Detroit & Hamtramck, Michigan, 1933-34. Large manila sample book page from Columbian Bank Note Company, security, printer, with front and back depression scrip proof banknotes. Sheet measures 15.5 x 16 inches, Notes are mounted on both sides of the page. Mounted on one side of the page are 11 City of Detroit Obverse and reverse proofs. The obverses are printed in black and the reverses in green. Included are the denominations $1, $5, $10, $20, and $1000 (the $1000 is damaged and missing a piece on the bottom). There are 2 different $1 and $5 obverses, each having a different signature combination. The other side of the sheet has 12 proof obverse and reverse notes from both the City of Detroit and the City of Hamtramck. This includes a third signature variety of the $1 and $5 notes and a $2 obverse proof from the City of Detroit. City of Detroit $10, $20 and $1000 proofs, are present, all with the signature blocks cut out. There are back proofs for the $1 and $5 notes from the City of Detroit, also present. The sheet also has obverse proofs of the denominations of $1, $5, and $10 for the City of Hamtramck. Most of the notes would be in VF to Uncirculated if left untouched. The sheet could possibly be soaked, but it is not recommended as well as this being a unique and amazing banknote reference from Columbian Bank Note Company.
