ABNC. In the early 1850s, Edward Tattnall of Wilmington, Delaware was given an English recipe for making matches by a business acquaintance, William R. Smith. In 1853, Tattnall attempted to turn the recipe into a business at Market Street Bridge over Brandywine Creek in Wilmington. Certificates range from Good to VF condition with toning, minor edge faults and foxing, still interesting. Usually seen as an advertising obsolete banknote, not a stock or bond certificate look-a-like. (5).
