Chase, Includes: Proof Vignette by ABNC printed on India paper, intaglio printed in black; Also included is a document from Chase’s time as Governor of Ohio, which appointed Samuel W. Reed as the Justice of the Peace for the Township of Sandusky, in the County of Sandusky, signed by Chase at bottom, Black text with Ohio state seal at top left corner, Fine but fragile condition with thin paper with tears and splitting along margins and at top center. Salmon Portland Chase ( January 13, 1808 - May 7, 1873) was a U.S. politician and jurist who served as the sixth chief justice of the United States. He also served as the 23rd governor of Ohio, represented Ohio in the United States Senate, and served as the 25th United States Secretary of the Treasury.
