Introduction to the Sale Foreword On behalf of the entire Archives International Auctions team, I would like to personally welcome you to our 88th auction and our seventh auction of 2023. We are excited to offer 688 lots of rare and desirable U.S., Chinese, & Worldwide Banknotes, Coins, Scripophily, U.S. Colonial Banknotes & Fiscal Documents, Historic Ephemera, and Security Printing Ephemera. We are also offering rare and desirable numismatic pieces consigned from various estates and longtime collections, with many of them having never been offered previously at auction. The auction will be held over one day and include 363 lots of world banknotes which includes over 54 lots of Chinese banknotes and Scripophily; 66 lots of Chinese Coins; 240 lots of Worldwide banknotes; 8 lots of U.S. Colonial Banknotes and Colonial Fiscal Documents; 57 lots of U.S. banknotes; 54 lots of Historic Ephemera and Security Printing Ephemeral; and over 200 lots of U.S. and World Scripophily featuring railroads, mining, banking & finance, historic bonds & shares, and numerous other topics with many highlights too numerous to mention. There are dozens of items included in this auction that have never been offered previously for sale, including amazing Chinese banknotes, Chinese coins, and World banknotes, as well as hundreds of other Fiscal Documents and banknotes that have resided in long term collections or archives. We will be holding our 89th auction on November 21st featuring the Huntsville Collection of Arkansas, Missouri and Cherokee Nation Obsolete Scrip Notes and Banknotes, and Part 2 of Chinese and World Coins from an old-time collection, all new to the colleting community, including rarities having never been offered or seen at auction previously.
