Lot of 3 Issued obsolete Banknotes, Includes: $1, Wait #67 Rarity 4 (25 to 50 known), S/N 2495, Screaming Eagle in middle top, Allegorical Liberty at left and George Washington at right, Fine condition; $2, Wait #75 Rarity 4, S/N 5158, wild horses top middle, Colonial soldier at left and Benjamin Franklin at right; and, $3, Wait #70 Rarity 4, S/N 5615, Men with horses in front, men in canal boat and locomotive behind them, with young girls on the lower right, Choice VG to Fine condition. All three notes have black printing with red underprint, , ABNC. Lot of 2 obsolete Banknotes, Includes: 1845, Mechanics Bank at Newark, $3, Wait # 1430 Rarity 7, Issued Banknote, S/N 7485, Black printing with multiple vignettes. Bank was incorporated in 1831, was converted into The Mechanics National Bank of Newark in 1865, and went into receivership in 1881, VG to Choice VG condition; and, Mechanics Bank, $5, Wait # 1437 Rarity 5, Haxby-NJ 364-A-25, Counterfeit Banknote, S/N 5024, Black printing with multiple vignettes. VG to Choice VG condition. The Mechanics Bank was a non-existent bank, these were intended to look like banknotes from Mechanics Bank at Newark. The note is altered from a $5 Geauga Insurance Co. from Plainsville OH. (2). S/N 7023; 25 Cents, Wait # 1467, S/N 8243; and 50 Cents, Wait # 1468, No S/N, All three have a small vignette at the top, a small vignette at the left, and a coin at the right above a seal, Notes are in Choice VG to Choice Fine condition. all are Rarity 3 in Wait. The New Hope Delaware Bridge Co. was incorporated in 1812.
