Ottawa, Canada, 1991, $20, P-97tp, BC-58bPE, “Printers Essay” DuraNote Polymer paper test banknote with Grill Security Feature, Printed on DuraNote polymer plastic paper substitute, the obverse only has the m/c undertint with security feature of translucent intertwined rectangular grill feature and Pin-punch SPECIMEN. The reverse has the normal design and color with the “Common Loon” swimming duck on a lake with trees in the background and with the security device also appearing on the back. PMG graded Choice Uncirculated 64. These photo-proofs of the original issued notes were used during the production process by TDLR as a reference for their own design or for comparison from the Thomas De La Rue production and design department.
