Small text on left vertically states “ The mineral locations of this company have been selected expressly for Copper & Lead & are among the best”. Incorporated in 1846 in Cincinnati OH, the company owned and operated copper and lead mines in the nearby area. The mine was critical to the North in the Civil War for bullet and shot supply. The Princess Anne ship that is shown sunk in 1930 when the ship missed the New York Harbor entrance and ran aground on Rockaway Shoals.
