In 1914 they went on their own to form their own automobile company. In 1925 the company was sold to Dillon, Read & Company for $148 million, said to be the largest financial transaction to take place up till that time. In 1928 Dodge Brothers merged with Chrysler. Lot of 14 pieces, Includes: ca.1920-30’s, Studebaker Corporation Specimen pair, both <100 Shares, one green and the other brown; 2 large size real photographs, one with a Model 9502 Studebaker Gasoline Car from 1904 and a photo showing almost every model of Studebaker since 1899 to 1956; a 1940-50’s Studebaker-Packard Corp. group of 3 specimens, all with allegorical woman flanked by 2 men, Odd shares, <100 Shares and 100 Shares; and, a 1950-60’s trio of 2 specimens and one proof with a seated allegorical man holding a piston, and a similar appearing vignette on a Sperry Rand Corp Specimen; an uncut proof pair of <100 Shares, green, similar to the previous specimens; and a title and vignette proof.
