Archives International Auctions Auction 81 December 15th & 16th 2022

Introduction to the Sale Foreword On behalf of the entire Archives International Auctions team, I would like to personally welcome you to our 81st auction and last auction of 2022. We are excited to offer 546 lots of rare and desirable U.S., Chinese, & Worldwide Banknotes, Scripophily, Historic Ephemera, and Security Printing Ephemera in 2 sessions. Our first session, the live gallery and Internet session on December 15th will include many rare and desirable banknotes including the finest known Hupeh Government Cash Bank, 1904 Rarity and many other notes rarely seen at auction. We are also offering rare and desirable numismatic pieces consigned from various estates and longtime collections, with many of them having never been offered previously at auction or are new to the collecting community. The auction will be held in 2 sessions over 2 days, with the first day offering Live Gallery and Live Internet bidding for 546 lots while the 2nd day, a Timed Internet only sale, will include over 600 lots of U.S. and Worldwide Banknotes, Scripophily, Ephemera, and coins, with lots being added daily. The first session, held on December 15th includes 300 lots of world banknotes featuring 91 lots of Chinese banknotes and Chinese Scripophily; 38 lots of U.S. banknotes, Depression Scrip and U.S. Federal Bonds & Fiscal documents; 54 lots of Historic Ephemera and autographs; 37 lots of Security Printing Ephemera; 15 lots of Checks, Drafts, Exchanges and U.S. & World stamps and postal history; and 94 lots of U.S. and World Scripophily featuring railroads, mining, banking & finance, historic bonds & shares, and numerous other topics with many lots too numerous to highlight. The second session will be offered as a Timed Internet sale and will include a wide variety of numismatic items including U.S. and World Banknotes, Scripophily, Coins, Historic Ephemera, and related historic items, to be offered through Archives International’s website and iCollector’s website only. Our next live gallery and live internet auction, AIA Auction# 82, will be held sometime late January to early February 2023. We are now working on and actively seeking consignments for our Winter and Spring 2023 auctions to include U.S. and World Banknotes, Coins, Scripophily and Security Printing Ephemera as well as desirable numismatic & philatelic items.
