Baltimore, Maryland. Uncut pair of unissued 1870s checks from the Assistant Treasurer of the United States, S/N 5289 and 5290. Black text with black border, “Navy” underprint, David Farragut portrait at left. Fine condition. David Farragut was a flag officer of the United States Navy during the American Civil War. He was the first rear admiral, vice admiral, and admiral in the United States Navy.
