Members were progressive advocates of labor rights and were, oddly, anti-Chinese due to the Chinese participation in the local labor market. The Panic of 1893 killed both the lumber market and this colony which was finally officially dissolved in 1904. Your cataloger believes that these notes were used by co-operative members to purchase goods manufactured by the co-operative. The 5¢ is the approximate size of a large postage stamp and is identified only by the “P.S.C.C.” abbreviation. Rare Washington State Scrip note. Est. $350-500
