Shanghai, China. 1918, 10 Taels, P-S426p (S/M#M10-32), Front proof printed on india paper mounted on large card, Black printing and m/c face, Screaming eagle flanked by globes i middle, PMG graded Choice Uncirculated 63 with note of small tear on lower left, the proof appears CU to Gem but it has been lifted partially from the card backing on the lower left corner causing a very small tear in the excess margin far from design. If the note was cut down to banknote size it would grade Choice to Gem Uncirculated. Rare Shanghai “Tael” issue banknote rarely seen in any format. There were only 4 proofs of the 10 Tael in the Christies 1991 ABN Archives sale.
