Cuba, 1840. Uncut sheet of 8 tickets. Black printing, and each with hand stamps and numbers. Some minor damage and slight blurry printing, but otherwise historic and Very Nice. Choice Very Fine or better. ������������������������ Est. $130-260 EPHEMERA - MUSIC AWARDS California 483 483 52nd Grammy Nominee Medal with Ribbon National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, 52nd Grammy Nominee medal with purple ribbon, VF condition, but without any box, papers, etc. The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards took place on January 31, 2010, at Staples Center in Los Angeles honoring the best in music for the recording year beginning October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. The show was moved to January to avoid competing against the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Only ten of the 109 awards were received during the broadcast. The remaining awards were given during the un-televised portion of the ceremony which preceded the broadcast. Rarely are these offered at auction. We do not know which artist or song it was awarded for. ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� Est. $600-900 EPHEMERA - NAVIGATION Mississippi 484 484 Adams County, Mississippi Superior Court 1820 Document with Complaint against Steamboat Captain for Neglecting Health Permit for Landing Mississippi, 1820. Handwritten, 2 piece Superior Court document outlining the complaint of James Metcalf, Chairman and one of the Commissioners of Health and Police for the city of Natchez, against John De Hart, a captain. In this piece, Metcalf claims that De Hart owes the sum of $2,000 for landing his Steam Boat, the Columbus, in the city of Natchez without “without the permit of the Health Offices of the said Commissioners of Health and Police,” which is a great “misdemeanor” and subject to fine. A counter-argument is handwritten on the back of the first page by the defending attorney. VG condition with archival repairs, some toning, and damage along margins. Interesting piece of Southern Antebellum history as well as an extremely early example of steamboats on the Mississippi River. �������� Est. $450-750 New York 485 485 Bill of Sale for “Canal Boat” Vessels Enrolled, 1844 Lansingburgh, New York, 1844. Document issued certifying the ownership of the Canal Boat, the Lansingburgh, by Nathaniel T. Hubbard, Cyrus Cheney, and Walter O. Hubbard. Black text with dark brown handwriting, Rudimentary ship depicted at top center. Provides details such as where the ship was manufactured (1837) and its dimensions, 75 Feet x 15 Feet with weight of 51 84/95 tons.
