Signed and notarized by a Notary Public, along with Watkins and another witness. Fine condition with some toning and fragile fold lines, still in incredible condition considering its age. Certificate of Appreciation issued to Emil Klicka for his “willingness to serve the best interests of the Exposition” and service to the success of the Exposition. Signed by G. Aubrey Davidson as Chairman of Board of Directors, and Frank Drugan as Executive Secretary. Blue text with blue Exposition underprint, Printed on brown paper, Gold embossed seal with ribbon at bottom left corner. Fine condition with a small hole near center left margin, and some toning. The California Pacific International Exposition was an exposition held in San Diego, California during May 29, 1935 - November 11, 1935 and February 12, 1936 - September 9, 1936. The exposition was held in Balboa Park, San Diego’s large central urban park, which had also been the site of the earlier Panama-California Exposition in 1915. The Exposition was held to promote San Diego and support its economy, which had slowed with the country’s Great Depression. The first year was such a financial and attendance success that it was held over for a second year.
