New York, NY..... $1, East River Bank, Proof vignette cut to shape extremely precisely of construction scene found on the $1, ca.1850’s obsolete note listed as SENC in Haxby. Incredible and extremely precise skill went into cutting this vignette from where it was taken. The church spires, construction scaffolding, buildings crane are perfectly cut and then glued to the thin card. Engraved by Baldwin Adams & Co. who I assume placed the vignette on card to be used in the future. XF condition with very slight toning.
