Signed by Francis E. Spinner as Cashier. Fine condition. Francis Elias Spinner ( January 21, 1802 – December 31, 1890) was an American politician from New York. He served as Treasurer of the United States from 1861 to 1875, under presidents Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, and Ulysses S. Grant. He also was the first administrator in the federal government to employ women for clerical jobs. Spinner cultivated his singular autograph, seen on paper money, checks and other financial documents, in order to prevent counterfeiting. He was buried at the Mohawk Cemetery in Mohawk, New York, where a large bronze statue of him stands. Jeptha Homer Wade (August 11, 1811 – August 9, 1890) was an American industrialist, philanthropist, and one of the founding members of Western Union Telegraph. Henry Morrison Flagler was an American industrialist and a founder of Standard Oil, first based in Ohio. He was also a key figure in the development of the Atlantic coast of Florida and founder of what became the Florida East Coast Railway. He is known as the father of Miami and Palm Beach, Florida.
