Proof Vignette Design Material Group Lot, including: original pencil sketch of busy airport on thin paper, with dashed border, 18.5 x 7 inches, very detailed and in great condition besides a slight hole at top center, and a small brown stain at top right; also included is a 12.5 x 5 inch black and white copy of the airport vignette design, including the dashed border; Pair of vignette design copies on glossy paper, both with color scale at bottom and writing at top; Smaller copy of vignette, with writing at top, 6.25 x 2.75 inches; Copy of vignette with tractor at front with box drawn around it, 7 x 3.5 inches; and final piece is an intaglio printed proof vignette, with “Private for Israel” printed underneath, BN 41102 at bottom left and DIE 15468 at bottom right, with R18419 handwritten in ink above. This group provides a unique glimpse into the vignette creation process, and the final design was used on State of Israel stocks and bonds. Rare.
