Both notes With The Name Of Loammi (Meaning ‘not My Country’) Baldwin, Baldwin Commanded The Woburn Militia At Lexington And Concord and In 1776 Took Part In The Battle Of Pell’s Point. Followed By The Christmas Crossing of the Delaware with General Washington and the British rout at Trenton. S/N 1329, Printed on one side, but with a multitude of signatures (Lewis de Rosset, John Starkey, John & Samuel Swann) and reverse shows colonial scribblings, notations etc. VG to Choice VG with several splits with a hinge repair. Alabama Insurance Co. of Montgomery, $3 Issued Banknote, Red - folds and nicks, plus a pinhole and a more substantial hole by the end of the word ‘multiple’ with many folds, dirt, and a small hole on the left red portion, but no tears or pieces out, bottom border is choppy. With AIC blue stamp in the center & a dog by the signature. The left vignette shows (faded) a steamboat, and as this was the first issue (April) of 4 dated higher denominations (April, June, August, September) it carries the best redemption quantities. With vignettes of a Native American on the left, school building in the center and a man with corn on the right. There is also a center vignette of a dog and a safe at bottom. Stamped In red on the front with a “5”, “Series A,” “No. 13,879” and the Seal of Connecticut. The reverse has denominations in green on a white background. Measures approximately 7 x 3 inches.
