Issued receipt for a gold bullion deposit, with weight before and after melting, as well as value and overall mode of payment. Thomas Price (1837-1912) was a Welsh-born chemist and assayer. He arrived in the United States in 1862. He worked as an assayer for the San Francisco Refinery, as well as teaching chemistry at Toland Medical College. He later become a freelance consultant providing services to mining companies worldwide. Rare gold- related piece. Colorado (Inc. in New Jersey), 1909, International Steam Pump Company, $1000, 5% Specimen Gold Bond, Olive green and black with giant steampump with small man standing next to it. XF condition. Specimen overprints, ABNC. Benjamin Guggenheim was elected president of the company in 1909. He was one of seven sons of Swiss-born industrialist Meyer Guggenheim and was sometimes called the “Silver Prince,” and earned his nickname from his interests in Silver mining in Colorado. Guggenheim started building mining machinery that later became part of the International Steam Pump Company in 1906. He tragically perished in the Titanic disaster of 1912.
