Issued Duplicate Credit Document Pair, ca. 1879-1890 Ireland. Pair of Issued and Duplicate Credit Documents, One dated 1879, the other from 1890. Both have pink/purple text with black handwriting, featuring a pair of allegorical women at top center, and have “In Duplicate” overprints. VF condition. Founded by Thomas Joplin and others in London in 1825 with 689 shareholders, the Provincial Bank of Ireland opened its first branch in Cork on September 1st, 1825. Its primary aim was to introduce English capital into Ireland outside of the Dublin area.
