The National Bank of Australasia was a bank based in Melbourne. It was established in 1858, and in 1982 merged with the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney to form National Australia Bank. VF condition with pencil note made at center. The Union Bank of Australia was an Australian bank in operation from 1837 to 1951. It became the Union Bank of Australia Limited in 1880. The bank remained open throughout the economic crises of the 1890s. It acquired the Bank of South Australia in 1892. By its centenary in 1937, it had 267 branches and agencies through Australia and New Zealand. It merged with the Bank of Australasia to form the Australia and New Zealand Bank Limited in 1951.
