Baltimore, Maryland. 10 Shares Capital Stock I/C Certificate, Black print on black border, Locomotive L-R at top flanked by allegorical women, POC’s in signature, Fine-VF condition with toning, Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co. Signed by John Hopkins. He was a major entrepreneur, abolitionist and philanthropist. He founded many organizations and institutions most notably, Johns Hopkins University and Hospital. At the start of the Civil War one of the first campaigns was planned at his home. He continually gave money and use of his railroad to the Union Army.
