Bankers 1877 I/C Check Quintet Shauntie, Utah Territory. Lot of 5 pieces, all are I/C checks from Wells Fargo & Co. Bankers, Salt Lake City, Utah, but issued in Shauntie, Utah. Black text with black border, orange revenue stamp underprint. Fine condition. Wells Fargo &Company is an American multinational financial services company headquartered in San Francisco, California, with managerial offices throughout the United States and overseas. It is the world’s fourth-largest bank by market capitalization and the fourth largest bank in the US by total assets. Shauntie Utah was formed in 1870 when miners entered the area and made some good discoveries. The area became a center point of the North and South Star mining districts. Long story short, the town boomed until 1877 when the ore dried up and everyone left. Burlington, VT. Lot includes of 109 pieces, all I/C checks from Merchants National Bank, located in Burlington, Vermont. Some of the checks have black text with green background, the rest have black text with a large eagle depicted at top center. Fine condition, most dating from 1918. 109 pieces.
