Lot of 4 pieces, all are approval proof Travelers Cheques in denominations of $10, $20, $50, and $100. Black text with black border, Judge Thomas Mellon at top left corner. All are printed on cardstock and attached to green folders. $10 note has an approval signature across it, $20, $50 and $100 notes have ‘Proof’ printed in red ink at top left corner. $100 note also has a printing order form attached to back. 4 pieces. Mellon Financial Corporation was one of the world’s largest money management firms. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, it was in the business of institutional and high-net-worth individual asset management, including the Dreyfus family of mutual funds, business banking, and shareholder and investor services. On December 4, 2006, it announced a merger agreement with Bank of New York, to form The Bank of New York Mellon. After regulatory and shareholder approval, the banks completed the merger on July 2, 2007. I/C, Check #46, from the State Treasurer of Pennsylvania, made out to the American Bank Note Company for $470.87 for printing banknotes and for paper for Clearfield County Bank. Black text with red underprint, POC. VF condition. John Draper with James B. Longacre joined the competitive firm of Charles Toppan & Co., resulting in the new firm of Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. In 1839 Longacre withdrew and the firm’s name became Draper, Toppan & Co. After five years of this partnership Draper resigned and with his two sons Robert and William formed the firm of Draper & Co., at 60 Walnut St., Philadelphia (1845-1850).
