Beijing, China... A cashier’s check issued by private Pingyin Bank in Beijing right after the founding of PRC. The check was printed in late ROC, and the red imprints “Renminbi” and “Beijing” are added to modify “National currency” and “Beiping” which is the former name of Beijing. A Debt Certificate issued by the Merchants Association of Taihe Town from an unknown county. No date but presumably 1948- 1949. The text on the face is “Now we temporarily owe Mr. (blank) 1 jiao of Gold Yuan”. Seals on the left side are of the chair of the Merchants Association and the chair of the Labor Union. Text on the back describes regulations. Serial number is 43549. Choice Fine to VF condition.
