This is the first time we have had the pleasure of offering this exceptional proof sheet. 383 383 Central Bank of Brooklyn, 1850’s Uncut “Santa Claus” Proof Sheet of 4 Notes. Brooklyn, New York. Uncut proof Sheet of 4 notes, $1-$1-$2-$3, Haxby-315-G2a-4a- 6a, pp A-B-A-A, No overprints, Black printing without undertint on india paper that is unmounted, The $1 note has a Gentleman on right and young man carrying corn with horse and boy in background in middle with registration top left; The $2 note has a spectacular Santa Claus vignette with Jolly Santa and reindeer at top left, NY Registration top right middle and portrait of gentleman bottom right; the $3 note has a reclining allegorical woman at the left middle and the registration lower right, all with POC’s, each note has stamped on the back in purple “Property of American Bank Note Co.”. The sheet is PMG graded Uncirculated 62 with a note of minor tears which appears mainly on the top $1 note. The $2 Santa note looks superb with no issues or faults and wide even margins on both sides, The $3 note has what appears to be a pre-printing horizontal paper fold in the top middle. An outstanding proof sheet with the ever popular Santa vignette. Heritage last sold a $2 Santa proof in 2012 for over $6000. No sheets have been offered through heritage.
