Delaware, 1925, Odd Shs, Proof stock certificate, printing of vignette, title and text with no border, vignette of Atlas holding explosive wooden crate with dynamite exploding, “Cancelled” stamped on proof. “2670” printed in crayon on the left referring to the metal plate number that was cancelled. The Atlas Powder Company was incorporated in Delaware on October 18, 1912 as part of the court-ordered breakup of the explosives monopoly of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company. As part of the settlement, parts of DuPont’s black powder and dynamite business were spun off to two new companies, the Hercules Powder Company, and the Atlas Powder Company.
