BWC.Est. $400-800 SECURITY PRINTING EPHEMERA We are offering a desirable group of Security Printing Ephemera and Security Printer Advertising and Test Notes. Included is an extremely desirable selection of DuraNote test note samples from the estate of the manager of the project begun at Mobil Oil which had been developing an alternative to paper for banknote printing that would include numerous security devices as well as durability, hence the name DuraNote. Unfortunately the project was abandoned when Exxon merged with Mobil in the late 1990’s. I assume most of the technology was sold to other companies researching petroleum based paper replacements which we call Polymer Notes. Mobil Oil with its polymer paper replacement, DuraNote, was one of the pioneer developers of this technology similar to Tyvek paper utilized by ABN in numerous notes from the 1980’s. All of these samples are rare and represent the beginning of the transition from paper to polymer we are finding more and more being issued by countries throughout the world.
