Notes feature multiple design types including Imperial eagle motifs and cityscape views of Nördlingen, with serial numbers, decorative borders, and municipal authorization by the city magistrate. Printed in a variety of color combinations including black, red, green, and orange. These emergency notes were issued by the city during World War I to address shortages of small denomination coinage. Uncirculated to Gem Uncirculated or better condition. (12). Lüderitz, and Carl Woermann, with the inscription “Remember our Colonies.” The colorful reverses display a map of Africa highlighting former German colonial territories including Togo, Cameroon, German East Africa, and German South West Africa.
