The company grew rapidly during the 1920s radio boom, employing thousands at its peak, but the 1929 market crash forced it into receivership, and its assets were liquidated in 1930. Walter C. Earl represents the wave of early radio entrepreneurs whose firms rose quickly and disappeared just as fast during the volatile early years of consumer broadcasting. (2).
