Scarce and attractive stock certificate. the first electric light was invented by Humphry Davy ca.1802 to 1805, but it was not until the 1870s, when Swan and Edison, independently from each other, developed the first long lasting light bulbs and that electric light bulbs would become commercially feasible to manufacture in large quantities. It was estimated in 1885 only 300,000 electric lamps had been sold. Baxter Electric Light Company can be considered an early light bulb manufacturer pioneer.
