Est. $100-200 6 6 Asian Collection of Issued Banknotes, ca.1930-40s Asian Collection of Issued wartime-era paper money from Japan, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The largest portion consists of Japanese Government occupation notes with clear English text reading “THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT,” including denominations such as 1, 5, and 10 pesos, 1 shilling, and 5 centavos, many with red serial numbers and tropical or architectural vignettes. Chinese notes show Central Bank of China issues with Sun Yat-sen portraits and denominations including 1 yuan and higher, printed in traditional Chinese characters. Smaller Indonesian notes marked “BANK INDONESIA” and a Vietnamese note with Vietnamese text and portraiture are also present.
