Schlosser & Co., Cigar Importer, Advertising Flier as the “Broadweg Railroad Companie”, ND (1880s), Advertising Stock Certificate. New York..., ND (1880s). Parody Cigar Advertising Stock Certificate printed in German accented English, Arms of New York at center, VF with 2 small holes in the middle right, This is a humorous novelty stock certificate styled as a legitimate 19th-century railroad share, issued in the name of the Broadway Railroad Company, a fictional or parody entity. Although it adopts the formal structure, typography, and engraved border typical of genuine railroad stock certificates, the text is intentionally written in exaggerated German-accented English, parodying immigrant speech patterns common in New York satire of the mid- to late-1800s. ...........................................
