Notes are in Fine to VF+ condition. This pair includes an 1838 note from the New York Loan Co., an early Manhattan financial firm active during the state’s free-banking expansion, and an 1862 issue from the Farmers & Mechanics Bank of Rochester, a long-established upstate institution operating during the Civil War era.
