Pennsylvania. 1925, Lot of 6 I/U stock certificates, Includes 3 common (orange); and, 3 preferred (green) stock certificates, all with ornate borders but only titles and text, no vignettes. All are in Choice Fine to VF condition, Knudsen Motor Corporation, Delaware, capital stock $1,000,000; full paid and non- assessable; preferred stock $300,000, common stock $700,000. Incorporated under the laws of Delaware. All of the certificates are issued tomembers of theMcLeod family. The Corporation was engaged in the development of a high-power diesel locomotive engine, with a 12-cylinder two-cycle water-cooled unit rated at approximately 1,000 horse power, built for the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1925. According to contemporary press the consulting engineer in charge was Carl H. Knudsen. The prototype unit was documented in June 1925 as Baldwin’s first 1,000-horsepower diesel box-cab locomotive powered by a Knudsen Motor Corporation engine and Westinghouse electrical gear. Later returned to the Baldwin plant as a switcher; did not enter mass production.
