Contemporary references place a “Corydon” mine/location in the Central City mining district. The company became notorious for market manipulation in New York/Boston. Newspapers in May to August 1867 reported the failure of a major “Corydon” stock operator (named John Leighton) and indicated the stock was to be stricken from the list over “swindling” by interested parties.
