Lot of 3 Japanese Certificates, consisting of documents from the early to mid-20th century, highlighted by a wartime government broadside dated July 1944 announcing the resignation of Prime Minister Hideki Tōjō and his Cabinet following the disastrous loss of Saipan. Printed on thin paper with bold headline characters “Cabinet Resignation!!,” the text explains that the Army and Navy ministers, together with Tōjō himself, had stepped down in recognition of Japan’s worsening military situation and the grave danger to the homeland. This type of public notice was distributed nationally to inform citizens of important political events, and its issuance marked a turning point in Japan’s wartime leadership. Also included is a 1928 Kobe Commodity Exchange Co., Ltd. stock certificate for one 50-yen share, ornately printed with revenue stamp and seals, and a 1934 fixed- term savings certificate for 500 yen with green decorative border.
