Typed and signed letter from Ronald Reagan, dated August 5, 1975, addressed to the Sheriff Robert Pleasants, of Wake County, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Written on Reagan’s personal letterhead listing his Los Angeles address, the letter expresses gratitude for the sheriff ’s assistance with Reagan’s security. This correspondence comes from the period between Reagan’s tenure as Governor of California (1967–1975) and his eventual presidency.
