Perera Express Travelcheck Pair of Specimen Travelers Checks, ND (1950-60s). New York, ND (1950-60s). $20 and $50 Specimen Travelers Checks, Both have Specimen overprints, are in UNC to Gem UNC condition, and printed by S-CBNC. Perera Express Company, established by Perera Company, Inc., was primarily involved in the issuance and redemption of traveler’s checks, with operations beginning in 1964 under its trademark, which expired in 1992. The company also provided currency-related travel services, as evidenced by promotional materials from the late 1950s. While its original focus was financial services for travelers, the name “Perera Express” has since been associated with other businesses, including a Japan- based company and a cargo and freight service known as Perera Super Express.
