Archives International Auctions Auction 101 April 23, 2025

Introduction to the Sale Foreword Archives International Auctions is proud to present its 101st sale and second auction of 2025, taking place on April 23rd. This exciting event features over 700 lots of rare and historically significant banknotes, scripophily, and financial ephemera—many making their first appearance at public auction. Highlights include nearly 300 world banknotes, with an exceptional group of Chinese notes and scripophily led by the highest-graded 1920 Chinese American Bank of Commerce $1 Specimen. Taiwan is represented by 13 high-grade notes from the Bank of Taiwan, Kinmen Branch, all PMG graded. Other standout rarities include a 1912 Bank of China $1 (Peking Branch), two important Chilean Specimens, and a striking unissued 6-note Lao Issara Essay Color Trial set. U.S. material includes 48 lots of Colonial, Obsolete, and Fractional currency; 25 Confederate items; 14 lots of U.S. Federal bonds and fiscal documents—highlighted by a rare (possibly unique) 1912 $100 Postal Savings Bond Specimen; over 120 lots of Large and Small Type notes; and more than 30 lots of historic and security printing ephemera. The sale also offers nearly 200 lots of U.S. and World scripophily, anchored by one of the most comprehensive U.S. Railroad Specimen bond offerings from the American Bank Note Company Archives—never before offered and largely unknown to collectors. This auction is a unique opportunity for collectors, dealers, and investors to acquire rare and important pieces of financial history. We’re also preparing for our 102nd sale in May and are currently accepting consignments for our Spring and Summer 2025 auctions, including U.S. and World Banknotes, Coins, Scripophily, Security Printing Ephemera, and related material. Thank you for your continued interest and support. We wish you the best of luck in the auction and hope it brings both enjoyment and great finds. Best of luck Bob Schwartz
