Terrace Garden, New York City. 1885 Banquet Ticket for U.S. Brewers Association, Intaglio printed in light orange-brown on thin white card, 5.25 x 3.25 inches, Perforated on right where stub was removed, Cherub in middle under title, flowers on left and right. The banquet was held at the well known Terrace Garden which was located on Lexington Ave., between 58th and 59th Streets. XF with light toning on the left. Printed by ABNC. President Lincoln, Bull, Large Building, and Allegorical Large Die Proof Vignette Assortment, ca.1880-1920 New York & Pennsylvania, ca.1880 to 1920. Lot of 11 Vignettes Used on Obsolete Banknotes, Stocks, bonds, and checks depicting buildings, cattle, allegorical figures, and even Abraham Lincoln. ABN LDP Proof Vignettes are printed on India paper and mounted on cardstock. These are authentic proof vignettes from the American Bank Note Archives which was dispersed through auctions and private sales between 1988 and 2005. It is an extremely rare intaglio proof vignette printed on India paper from the original plates in very limited quantities by ABNC. The vignettes were used for U.S. and Worldwide Obsolete banknotes, stock and bond certificates, checks, drafts and other fiscal issues. ABNC printed extra vignette proofs for use in future designs as well as for samples for their records. Most of them are known with very few impressions as vignettes (between 1 and 20 total, mostly in the 5 or 10 total printed category). Predecessor printers such as Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Co.; National Bank Note Co.; Continental Bank Note Co., and others are represented. All were acquired by ABNC over the years and kept in their archives that were stored by ABN. This is a rare opportunity to collect a rare historical engraving by this amazing company. (11). Sold “AS IS” no returns accepted. �������� Est. $200-300 524 524 U.S. Early Allegorical Figures with Numeral “1”Group of Stylized Vignettes, ND (1850-1900s). 1840-1850s. 7 different vignettes of allegorical figures, angels, cherubs, farmers and Native Americans with the numeral “1”. 2 are compound proofs with multiple vignettes. 3 are printed by BB&Co. and 6 are unattributed but are by earlier printing firms. All are printed on India paper and mounted on manila card with plate number at top of the card and on the India paper. All are cut down large die proofs.
