Unissued (possibly a Specimen) Guest’s Ticket to the June 19th, 1900 Republican National Convention. Black text on off-pink paper, Independence Hall depicted at top center flanked by Pennsylvania’s Coat of Arms and the Liberty Bell. The 1900 Republican National Convention was held June 19 to June 21 in the Exposition Auditorium, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Exposition Auditorium was located south of the University of Pennsylvania, and the later Convention Hall was constructed along the building’s east wall. It was demolished in 2006. President William McKinley was unanimously nominated for reelection: no candidate ran against him, although Admiral George Dewey considered a run. Governor Theodore Roosevelt of New York, who was himself a delegate, was nominated for vice president by a vote of 925 to zero, his vote alone abstaining. Printer: E.A. Sold “AS IS” no returns accepted. �������������������������������������������� Est. $100-200 Security Printing Ephemera Canada & U.S. 515 515 Canada & U.S., DuraNote, ND(ca.1980), Specimen Polymer Plastic Banknote Paper Test Note Canada, ND (ca.1980). 100 Units Test Note - Abstract Series - Large Clear Window, S/N DN000000, PMG graded Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ. DuraNote polymer material was developed as part of a research project by Mobil Oil in the late 1980s to early 1990s. Different countries including the U.S., Canada, England, Venezuela, Mexico and others had there banknotes printed using this material to test it and see if it could be a useful paper alternative. Unfortunately, Mobil Oil merged with Exxon Oil and the project was halted. Banknotes from Canada, Mexico, Venezuela and Great Britain are the only countries that as of now, have examples of their notes printed on this polymer paper, all are extremely rare and desirable.
