Black printing on india paper and mounted on light cardstock, POC in signature blocks and with 3 slightly damaged corner tips, otherwise Choice AU to Uncirculated. Allegorical female figures flanking shield with eagle at top center, ornate designs at left and right, small allegorical woman bottom middle. Printer imprints Bald, Spencer & Hufty, Philadelphia at bottom left; Danforth, Underwood & Co., New York at bottom right. Extraordinary U.S. Registered Bond (Stock) Certificate, Act of December 31, 1842, The 6% loan was employed to mop up the U.S. Treasury notes of 1837-42. The bond was part of Underwood’s papers at the time of his death. (Ex.
