Very possibly it is the only example known on this railroad in any form. Extremely rare if not unique and first time offered by us. Eastern Division 1875 Specimen 6% Gold Coupon Bond Rarity Texas, 1875. $1000 = £200 Pounds Sterling Specimen 6% Consolidated Mortgage Gold Construction Bond on Eastern Division, Black text with black border, Surveyor at work with train passing in distance at top center. Design notation at top left margin, pair of blue circles at center, more design notations on back, with red ‘Plate Cancelled’ stamp. POCs. Split down center, some splitting along horizontal fold lines as well, has been archivally repaired, Fine condition. Continental Bank Note Co., Rare if not unique in this format. Unlisted early 1875 date (1880’s were the earliest listed previously) as well as a previously unlisted design, this is now the exact bond used for the image in Cox.
