White metal, 50.5 mm, Uncirculated with prooflike surfaces, small rim nick on the obverse. Struck to commemorate the 100th anni- versary of the Battle atYorktown. Washington and Lafayette right, 1881 below. The reverse depicts the surrender. Engraved by P.L. Krider of Philadelphia. This medal was probably the inspiration for the obverse of the Lafayette Dollar. �����������������������������������Est. $150-300 1417 1417 George Washington “Thirteen Links” 100th Anniversary Medal. 1889. White metal, 54mm. High relief bust of Washington faces left on the obverse; the reverse features the sun surrounded by a chain with thirteen links, similar to the Fugio Cent design. AU with milky gray toning and some hairlines in the fields prooflike fields.
