(1751<1829), was a Revolutionary War General, Congressman and
public official. Dearborn was involved in the Battle of Bunker Hill,
and saw action at Ticonderoga and Saratoga. He distinguished him<
self at the Battle of Monmouth, and was on General Washington’s
staff at Yorktown. Dearborn, Michigan, is named in his honor. A
Republican Institution was organized to provide a forum for political
education and discussion as a means of promoting the national wel<
fare. A rare and important stock relating to a political organization.
