Banknote.
Indonesia, 1948, 5 Rupiah, Series 1-A, P-Unlisted (PMG
designation P-Unl5pe), Essay specimen banknote of a Security BNC
proposed and never issued 1948 Indonesia banknote Series. Note is
dated September 1, 1948. Black without underprint, Portrait of
Sukarno in middle and sword handle arms at left, back gray-green
with man plowing with oxen with mountains in background, Red
specimen overprint, POC and “00000” serial numbers. Small red
printing on upper right margin of face reads “ 11-9-48 FH”. Evidently
Indonesia did not accept this Security Banknote Company issue.
PMG graded Choice Uncirculated 64 with very light paper toning on
top right. Rare and very attractive. .............................
