Stockholms Banco, Daler Sylvermynt “1666” Issue Banknote.
Stockholm, Sweden, May 1666, 10 Daler Silvermynt [silver coin], P-A57, Issued ban-
knote, Black ornate border, ornate text, signed by 8 different people, all with embossed seals and two additional larger seals in middle, text on back, VF
to Choice VF condition, Such notes in undamaged high grade are rare. This is one of the first pieces of paper money issued in the Western world and is a
direct ancestor of modern banknotes. All such notes were on printed paper forms in round denominations. They did not specify a depositor, a deposit nor
an interest demand. They were payable to any bearer with possession of a note sufficient to constitute a claim on the bank. They were backed by the
deposit of a large number of copper plates (Swedish Copper Plate Money). This is a historic opportunity to obtain a high grade example of this extreme-
ly rare note. We know the successful bidder will treasure this trophy banknote..........................................................................................
