BNC proposed and never issued 1948 Indonesia banknote Series
1-A. Note is dated September 1, 1948; Block 1-A. Red specimen
overprints, POC’s and “00000” serial numbers. Small red printing
on upper right margin of face reads “ 11-9-48 FH” and back “11-9-
48 BK. Front is black, back is olive green. Back of note has farmer
plowing with oxen. Uncirculated toChoiceUncirculatedwith toning

uniface front and back banknotes. Block 1-A. Specimen overprints
and POC’s. Front is brown with Sukarno’s portrait, back is dark
brown with farmer plowing with oxen. The notes appear Choice
to Gem Uncirculated but there are internal folds beginning at the
punched out cancels created when punched and the notes are as
made. Please do not bid if you are seeking perfection but these
notes should grade Choice to Gem AU but appear as Gem Unc.

farmer plowing with oxen. The notes appear Choice to Gem
Uncirculated but there are internal folds beginning at the punched
out cancels created when punched and the notes are as made.

specimen banknote of a Security BNC proposed and never issued
1949 Indonesia banknote Series. Note is dated December 21, 1949,
Block 1-A, S/N 000000, Red specimen overprints, POC’s. Small
red printing on upper right margin of face reads “12-21-49 FM” and
back “12-21-49 BM”. Front is maroon, back is maroon. Face with
portrait of Sukarno, Back with farmer plowing with oxen. Evidently
Indonesia did not accept this issue. PMG gradedGemUncirculated
