Mines located in Death Valley, California
(Incorporated in SD), 100 Shares, Black on orange underprint and
border with miners drilling into mine walls, XF condition, The cer-
tificate was issued to Oswald Kirby and is endorsed by him on the
verso. The certificate has not been folded and is in EF condition. A
major mine in the Greenwater district, the Greenwater and Death
Valley Copper Company, which was owned and operated by one of
the great business magnates of the early twentieth century, Charles
Schwab. ABNC.

attached, S/N 67, XF, Judson Manufacturing Company was founded
in 1882 and the operations comprised of a complete bridge and
structural steel shops, machine shop, foundry and pattern shop and
bolt and nut shops. JUDSON, EGBERT PUTNAM (Aug. 9,1812 - Jan.
9, 1893), inventor and manufacturer of explosives. In August 1867
three pounds of dynamite were made at this plant and used in a trial
blast of boulders. This is considered to be the first instance of the
manufacture and use of dynamite in the United States after the
invention of that explosive by Alfred Nobel in 1866.

claims on the eastern extension of the ledges of the Greenwater &

Christopher Columbus vignette.
Colombia. (Incorporated in
New York), 1876, 10 Shares, I/U, 3 x 3 inch vignette of Columbus in
sight of land, engraved by National BNC, S/N 189, VF with toning on
the left side, a repaired 1 inch split at the left middle fold and slight
splitting on the right middle fold, First time seen by cataloger as well
as very possibly unique. The vignette is very similar to the vignettes
found on early National Banknotes that contained engravings by
NBNC. The mines were located near the Venezuela-Colombia bor-
der.
